Kandalama – 3 nights
Arrive Colombo where you will the transfer to Kandalama/Habarana depending on your chosen hotel, here you will base yourself for some amazing sightseeing, you can visit Minneriya National Park which is home to the largest expanse of Elephants throughout Sri Lanka. Also visit Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla Rock Temple and Anuradhapura. There is so much to see in this area, so you can as much or as little as you like.
Kandy- 1 Night
Transfer to Kandy for your overnight stay. Kandy is the second largest city in Sri Lanka, it is famed for its History, artefacts and Temples. The most famous Temple is the Buddhist Temple of the Tooth, home to the tooth relic said to be a piece of the Buddha himself.
(Optional – Your driver can transfer you to Kandy Train Station for a (3-4) hour train journey to Nuwara Eliya, where you driver will meet you)
Nuwara Eliya – 2 nights
Nuwara Eliya is where the pace of life is much slower with rolling hills and deep valleys shrouded in early morning mist. Here you can visit the Glenoch Tea Factory for your first tea making experience, then followed by hands on Tea Picking. There is also plenty of hiking with a visit to Hakgala Botanical Gardens.
(optional – rather then stay at Nuwara Eliya, swap and stay in the stunning 98 Acres Hotel in Ella, here you can still visit the Tea Plantations.)
Yala National Park – 2/3 Nights
Yala National Park is the second largest National Park in Sri Lanka. Yala is a must for wildlife and nature enthusiasts, the Park has the highest density of leopards in the world. Explore on a guided safari, track herds of Sambar deer, watch herds of Elephants drinking from the watering holes.
Mount Lavinia – 1 night
This is for your overnight stop to arrive at the airport for you flight over to the Maldives (this transfer will be around 4 hours)
