This seven night ‘in country’ family holiday combines the excitement of Cape Town with the thrill of an off-road safari in the malaria-free Eastern Cape. This itinerary works well for February, May and October half-terms as you set off on a Friday evening and arrive back on a Sunday. Cape Town is a fascinating city for adults and children alike and the non-malaria Eastern Cape means that you don’t have to worry about taking precautions. Half-term holidays don’t get any more exciting that this!

Cape Town – 4 Nights

There is much to see in Cape Town, and your days will be packed: take the cable car up Table Mountain, drive along the scenic Cape Peninsular route and see the penguin colony, visit the famous Waterfront with its many shops and restaurants, take a trip to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, enjoy the beach at Camps Bay, or tour the winelands. It isn’t hard to fill your time here!

Fly from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth (1 hour)

Eastern Cape – 3 Nights

You will be transferred to Cape Town airport and fly to the Eastern Cape, where you will be transferred to the malaria-free Eastern Cape Game Reserves. You will spend the next 3 nights exploring the lodge and getting out onto the plains to spot as many of the Big 5 as possible!
